Country Area Higher or Lower Game

How scoring works

Guess whether the challenger country's total land area is higher or lower than the known country. Correct answers build your streak; one mistake ends the run. Comparisons use square kilometers including land and inland water as reported in our UN-based snapshot.

Displayed values may use 'M km²' shorthand for millions of square kilometers. The game engine always compares the raw numbers underneath.

Area is not population

Players strong on population mode often stumble here. Russia, Canada, and Australia dominate by area while Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Vietnam punch above their weight in people. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is larger than Western Europe but barely cracks the population top ten.

Desert and rainforest inflate area without implying dense cities. Algeria, Libya, and Kazakhstan are classic 'big on the map, modest in headlines' examples.

Data sources

Total area figures reference UN Statistics Division and CIA World Factbook style snapshots, harmonized for game use. Disputed territories are handled consistently within the dataset — comparisons are for entertainment, not diplomacy.
